The job listing doesn't seem to align with what they're actually looking for in an interview, which seems to require at least 4-6 years of in-field experience. If they hire someone with that much experience, I think they'd be underpaid. The interview had general experience questions, then a pretty deep technical maintenance exam. It was a written test you took while the interviewer watched, covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more. It wasn't a simple quiz, and it was an unexpected part of the hiring process.

The job ad was for a dispatcher, but they were actually looking for someone to fill a project management type of role. The phone interview went well, and I was invited for an in-person interview. There were two interviewers, a man and a woman, who came across as arrogant and condescending. They made it seem like the job was out of my league and that I wouldn't be able to handle it, which I found insulting. Planning apartment "turns" to meet a deadline isn't exactly complex. The whole interview felt like a 40-minute attack on my experience, putting me on the defensive. Given how the in-person interview went with such conceited people, I'd probably decline if offered the job.

I applied online and then got an email for a phone screen where we talked about my resume and she asked me a lot of questions about myself, I think to gauge my personality. Two days later, I got a call to come in for an interview with the head of the department and an upper-level manager. After that, I was contacted the next day to schedule another interview for the following week. This was a panel interview with about 8 people from different parts of the company. It was intense but showed me how seriously they take hiring. I got the call at the end of that day.

The interview process was quite long, but it did give me a solid understanding of what TMG expects from their employees. I had the chance to speak with potential hiring managers and future colleagues before committing to the role. In addition to the standard interview, there was a computer test and a brief personality assessment that seemed to really get a read on me. The process took a considerable amount of time, which I now understand is because the company is very selective, aiming to ensure a good cultural and skill alignment with all hires.
