The interview was pretty relaxed. They mainly focused on checking out my portfolio or any test I might have done. Nothing too challenging was asked, and honestly, if you got the interview, the job was pretty much yours.

The HR person was super nice and friendly. She asked me about the work in my portfolio and how I approached it. Then she asked about my favorite anime and why I liked it. They also gave me some pointers on making my portfolio website better.

I loved the office vibe when I arrived, with its metal magazines and robot statues; it felt like a hip animation studio. The HR lady talked about the company culture and their belief in keeping a certain 'spirit' alive, which I thought I'd fit into. Then I met the hiring manager, who was more numbers-focused and less about art, which was a letdown. My skills matched the job requirements. When I said I could see myself in the role for two to three years, the hiring manager seemed upset, like he expected a lifelong commitment. Even HR said 'two to three years...that's good,' trying to reassure him it was a reasonable timeframe. The interview ended, and I never heard back about the position, maybe because they're so dedicated to their 'spirit.' I took a day off work for this meeting.

The interview was super chill. My interviewer was on time and really nice. They'd already checked out my portfolio online and I think they just wanted to meet me to see if I was a good fit for the company. Since I'm from out of province, they asked if I'd consider moving and when I could start. They gave me a quick rundown of the role, some of the tasks involved, and technical stuff like how the studio's pipeline works.
