First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tire Rack.
Business Intelligence Analyst
So I had 4 rounds of interviews. They mostly asked me questions about how I gather, validate, and analyze data to figure out a service's current and future value. The last interview was a panel with the team. They asked about my past experiences, how I collaborate, my work style, and some specific hypothetical data analysis questions about the company. They also threw in a SQL technical question. They gave me two starting tables and a final table and asked me to explain the steps to get from the start to the end. For me, that meant explaining how to join tables, aggregate a metric, and then rank the results by a certain field.
- Could you demonstrate how this specific service attracts customers who wouldn't have bought from us otherwise?
UX Designer
There were a couple of steps with the recruiter and then a meeting with the team. I heard back a couple of weeks later. Everyone was really nice and seemed genuinely interested in the process. It felt like a well-organized team.
- What is a controversial opinion you hold that you believe is uncommon?
Software Developer
I had an interview with the assistant VP of Digital Operations. This interview was more technical than what I typically see for an initial interview, but the questions were fair and not overly complicated. It was a nice change of pace. The interview felt like they have a good process, and it was one of the best interview experiences I've had.
- What makes you want to join Tire Rack?
Copywriter
Had a quick screening call, which was simple. Then had an initial interview that felt like a good conversation, where I got to discuss my experience and what I could offer the company. I followed up about the timeline after the initial interview but was ignored.
- Can you share an example of copy you've written that made a difference?
