So I had this initial phone chat with the recruiter, it was pretty quick. She just asked me why I wanted to work at TK, if I had any background in mental health, and what shifts I was looking for. Then she asked about my availability for an in-person interview. The in-person part was kinda wild. I got there, checked in, and had to fill out some background check forms. My interview was supposed to be at 10:30, but I sat there waiting past that time. I could hear the receptionists talking about me, wondering why I was still there. Eventually, around 10:55, someone came to get me. She was really nice, but it seemed like she wasn't the one who was supposed to interview me, though I still liked her. She made the interview pretty relaxed, which was nice. She asked me why I wanted to work in mental health, about my education, how I found out about TK, if I'd be okay with residents who were suicidal or self-harming, what I'd do in that situation, and about my volunteer work. She also explained the job and a typical day, and asked about my availability (part-time/full-time, days/evenings). It was only about 20 minutes long. It was a good experience overall, just a bit stressful and awkward with the mix-up.

I was emailed about a group interview and picked a date. When I got there, I told the receptionist I was there for my interview, but the person who emailed me was on maternity leave. The receptionist had to find someone else. I also had to fill out a paper application even though I already did it online, which felt totally pointless. Then, a woman showed up and seemed to be figuring out who she was interviewing and where. It felt like I wasn't expected and no one knew about the interviews. I was told it would be a group interview, but I was the only one there. The actual interview was fine, the woman was nice and attentive even though she had another meeting and wasn't supposed to be the interviewer. My original interviewer went on maternity leave earlier than planned. I actually liked that it was one-on-one instead of a group, even if it was by accident. I felt like I had enough time to answer questions and talk about the job. I felt good about the interview and thought it went well, despite the messy start, and they said they'd let me know soon. After two weeks, I followed up and was sent to HR. I had a very short conversation where they said they were 'behind on things' and would be in touch. They didn't even ask for my contact info, what job I applied for, or who interviewed me. I felt really dismissed and was over their disorganization. I've heard their internal organization is bad, and I got a taste of it. Whether they hire me or not, a proper update would have been nice.

Applied online and got a call back a few days later for a group interview. It went surprisingly well, considering it was my first group interview. About 5 other people were there. The questions were fair and it lasted about 30-45 minutes. I got a call a week later saying I got the job, but they never fully put me through the orientation process. I ended up waiting 3 months to start working and was forced to wait. They never officially said why I (and others hired around then) never went through orientation. Very disappointing after tests, vaccinations, and fingerprint scanning for no opportunity or experience.

The interview process was two steps. First I spoke with one person, then I had a second interview with the director. Both were really clear about the job expectations and asked good questions. The first interview had scenarios about the job which was helpful to see what the role involves. The director in the second interview gave more details about the job, and I felt like I basically had the job, just waiting to hear from HR. They said HR might take a couple weeks, but they called the next day with an offer. I liked talking to everyone, and the interview process felt very welcoming.
