Program Team
It was a pretty long process with 3 online interviews: a screen, a hiring manager interview, and a senior leader interview. There were also some home activities where I had to design sample comms, plans, and work management. They also let me ask a lot of questions at the end, including about what the role is like for people already in it.
- How would you design student communications?
Director of Marketing
The interviewer was about 10-15 minutes late and seemed really frazzled when they finally started the call, even mentioning a "fire." I offered to reschedule so they could be more comfortable, but they insisted on proceeding. During the hour-long call, they were clearly distracted, with very little eye contact and eyes darting around, which made me think they were reading messages or notifications. It felt like they just wanted the call to end. While I'm usually very understanding, the lack of courtesy and respect made the interview feel unprofessional. I felt like the consideration wasn't mutual.
- Could you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- What makes you want to join our company?
Program Director
I went through 2 rounds of interviews with Senior Management. The whole process was very respectful and clear. The questions asked were relevant to the position and the skills needed for it. Each interview was quite detailed and lasted between 45 minutes to an hour. During the first interview, they asked about my past work and how I'd be a good fit. They were looking for candidates with very specific experience, which is why I wasn't selected for further rounds. I do want to mention that the Senior Management seemed great and genuinely wanted to do what's best for the organization.
- What are your thoughts on work styles?
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- Could you share insights into your strengths, weaknesses, and how you handle difficult situations?
Lab Assistant
the Tilting Futures interview process was pretty chill and fun. they made me feel welcome from the start. it was like a chat, not an interrogation. they had two parts: a general chat and a 'vibe check'. the first part was about my skills, what I like, and what I want to do. the second part was more about if we click and if I fit their culture. it felt like they really cared about finding someone who is not just good at the job, but also a good person for the team. the interviewers were really good at connecting. they weren't stiff or formal, it felt supportive and even fun. it shows they care about doing a good job and also about the people, which is cool.
- How do you envision your growth within this position?
