The Tilson team seemed really knowledgeable about the Director of Underground role. Even though they're a big company with a few steps before making an offer, they moved pretty fast. I liked talking to different peer groups to get their take on the job and set expectations. After a couple weeks, I got a good offer. I've only been here two days, but everyone's been super welcoming and helpful. Big thanks to the Tilson Team.

This was one of the most awkward interviews I've ever had. The woman I spoke with initially seemed very unenthused, which is unsettling considering you’re my first interaction with the company. Most recruiters give a little background about the organization, she just jumped right in with “tell me about yourself.” She also asked me what I would like my title to be which is an odd question considering I applied for a Corporate Comms role. When the interview concluded, she asked if I had any questions and I asked about the timeline of the hiring process and what her experience working at Tilson was like. She literally told me if I have an opportunity to talk to the hiring manager, ask her, but she’s being very picky. I did notice the lack of diversity on the website and social media pages, which was kind of a red flag for me, but completing this interview confirmed that Tilson is not a company that I would have wanted to work. I did receive an email stating they’re moving forward with other candidates so best of luck to them. But I would highly recommend reiterating your company values to those who have public facing roles.

The entire interview process lasted about a month. Everyone I spoke with was really nice, positive, professional, on time, and supportive. I started with a phone call screening with Marley Mitchell, an internal recruiter/talent acquisition specialist. She was fantastic and kept me updated the whole time and answered everything I asked. After that, I had three video calls with different people. I felt well-prepared and enjoyed meeting everyone. They were thorough in making sure I was a good fit for the team and had the right skills.

Behavioral Technical

The recruiting process was extremely unprofessional. After multiple interview stages, there was no follow-up regarding my application status, even after multiple attempts to contact the recruiter via email. The entire interview and decision-making process was very slow and lacked professionalism, showing a lack of regard for the candidates who went through several interviews. Since HR is the initial point of contact with a company, their unprofessional conduct reflects poorly on the organization's treatment of both potential and current employees.
