Applied via LinkedIn and got a call about my experience and availability. The next day, I went in for an interview. The lobby was small, and the receptionist/recruiter was on the phone with other candidates nearby. I then had an on-site interview at a Sam's Club with a current event manager. Their events involve promoting products by setting up sample booths. I finished the second interview early because I wasn't interested, but everyone was really nice and polite.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was intriguing. The receptionist or recruiter on the phone had a nice tone and seemed very interested in my resume, which definitely got my hopes up. However, the interviewer was condescending. If I made the cut (I have 3 years of event experience and 1 year of sales experience), I would receive a call back and then be asked if I could come to an event to show that I can work sales for a second interview. This was odd, making me think they just needed workers for events, unpaid. I never got a call back. There were no questions asked about my past professional experience or about getting to know me. The interviewer proceeded to end the 20-minute interview without letting me ask any questions about the position. It's a very selfish company.

So first you have a one on one with the hiring manager. If that goes well, you go to the retail location for round two to see what the job is really like.
