First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tibi.
Public Relations
I reached out to Tibi on LinkedIn and they got back to me super fast to set up an interview. It was a phone call that lasted about half an hour. It felt pretty chill, but they did ask some important questions. They wanted to know why I got into PR, if I knew the fashion scene in NY, and if my personal style was a good fit for the brand. They also asked about my career aspirations.
- Which brands do you think are similar to Tibi in terms of who they sell to, how much things cost, their style, and if the clothes can be worn in different ways?
Coordinator
The interview process felt rushed and not very thorough. I was told there would be multiple interviews, but only one took place. It seemed like appearance was more important than I expected, as I was asked about my clothing sizes, with the implication that everyone at the company fits into sample sizes (around a size 4). I gathered that a key factor in choosing between candidates was their personal style.
- Can you tell me about your personal style?
Wholesale Assistant
I went to the office in the financial district. The interviewer was nice and asked some general, basic questions about my past jobs. She seemed worried because I didn't go to fashion school, even though I have experience in the fashion industry.
- Which designers do you like the most?
Assistant Designer
The interview was great and comfortable. They asked about expected things and my portfolio was viewed very closely. I prepared a few questions. The manager talked about work processes and concepts really detailedly.
- What skills do you have?
