First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thrivent.
Intern
It was a pretty standard interview process, and I got a response pretty quickly. I didn't end up taking the job, but I liked learning about the company, its mission, and the values they live by each day. I appreciated that they were straightforward with me.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Intern
I applied online and didn't have any references. First, I had an interview with HR, and then I got to interview with the Director of the Internship program. They asked me some basic questions and about my availability for the summer. The next day, they sent me a test that was supposed to predict how well I'd do at Thrivent. I think I did pretty well on it. After about a month and a half, they rejected me without explaining why. The HR person emailed me to say I did a really good job on the test and asked why I wasn't accepted. They never replied. I really think they rejected me because I didn't seem like their 'typical employee' who shares Christian beliefs.
- Tell me about your biggest strength.
Intern
I submitted my resume because I had a contact at the company. I scheduled a call via email, and the interview was over the phone. It went well. I got a job offer afterwards and accepted. Then a training session was scheduled, and I started working.
- Have you had experience working with people who have different opinions than you?
