First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thrive Agency.
SEO Strategist
They were on time for the interview and asked direct questions. They also provided feedback pretty quickly, like within a week. You don't really have to guess if you're getting the job or not, because they'll let you know by the date they told you they would.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- Can you share some details about your experience in SEO strategy?
- What are your situational strengths and weaknesses in this role?
Demand Generation Content Editor
The interview process started with a video chat that lasted over two hours. I didn't move to the next stage, which was an online assessment. I messed up the date for the assessment, and HR emailed saying I was great and a favorite, and that they wanted to schedule a one-on-one assessment for the next round. But then, an hour later, before I could set a new date, they emailed again saying they'd chosen another candidate. I saw the job posted again a few days later. This experience stood out because it was unprofessional. While companies don't have to hire anyone, lying and misleading candidates shows sloppiness and disrespect. If missing the assessment was a problem, I would have preferred they just tell me directly, as is normal in business. I hope this stops other candidates from wasting their time.
- How would you manage a hypothetical scenario?
Account Manager
I thought the group interview idea was neat, but it wasn't really used to its potential. They just asked everyone the same questions one by one, which, fine, but it kind of missed the point of a group setting. They could have made it better by changing up the questions for each person, or asking questions that were more tailored to individuals, instead of just generic stuff. Or, they could have thrown in some group problem-solving activities where you'd work together and see how people naturally step into different roles. The whole thing lasted about 2 hours, and then they said they'd let us know about the next steps.
- Based on your skills, how would you rank SEO, social media, PPC, and web development from highest to lowest?
Social Media Strategist
We had a group interview with 4-5 other people. It was scheduled for 2 hours. The first 30 mins were about the company and president. The president's slideshow about himself was kind of a waste of time given that there were other people in the interview and not much time to talk. There were a few questions asked to the group, where everyone got to answer. But if someone answered before you, it could seem like you were just copying them instead of showing your own knowledge. Then there was a skills assessment. It's not paid, but it's pretty simple.
- Can you identify a significant current industry change impacting social advertising?
