Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ThousandEyes.
Product Designer
I had an interview at Thousandeyes back in October. Initially, the hiring manager was late and then didn't say much when she finally showed up. She mentioned knowing about UX research even though it's not her background, but her comments on it felt inexperienced. Overall, the hiring manager came across as unprofessional, arrogant, and judgmental.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you describe your design process?
Product Designer
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. I was surprised that junior designers were involved in the interview process because they seemed inexperienced. I ended up doing most of the talking while they just listened without much engagement.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
- What's prompting your job search?
- What draws you to our company?
Product Designer
I wasn't actively looking for a new role, but I decided to interview out of curiosity. The process was a bit disorganized; they didn't really tell me what to expect in each stage. During my second meeting, I was asked to share my screen via Webex to present my case, but my laptop blocked it. I got the feeling they were unsure about the candidate profile they needed or didn't intend for the hire to stay long. The team is spread globally, which is interesting, but they mentioned I'd likely have to relocate, possibly to the UK. The lack of clarity on relocation and not discussing salary expectations caught me by surprise.
- How do you feel about potential company restructuring?
