The interview process included a Hiring Manager interview, coding, design, best practices discussions, and an engineering manager interview, followed by a chat with the VP. The interviewers were highly competent, and while the stages were technical, they were manageable with strong software engineering fundamentals. There were some scheduling issues, with one interview needing to be rescheduled last minute due to illness, which was inconvenient as it was a face-to-face interview requiring travel. Despite these hiccups, the overall experience was positive, with verbal feedback indicating a favorable outcome. However, a chat with the VP, not originally on the schedule, led to a 2-3 week waiting period. Ultimately, the company decided to pursue internal candidates, terminating the process. This was disappointing after investing significant time in the interviews with 6 people. I'd advise candidates to confirm the company's certainty about hiring for the role early on.

Went through 4 online calls. First was about how I work and if I fit the culture. Then we did architecture design. After that, it was coding and problem solving. The last call was about making sure engineering and product were aligned. Did all the calls over a few weeks. No offer came, and I didn't get any feedback.

It all started with a LinkedIn message, and then I had two calls with different Engineering Directors. We talked about my background in engineering, my experience as a manager, and what the role here is all about. After that, I went to the ThousandEyes HQ in San Francisco for the on-site. This included two coding interviews that were pretty standard and felt like real work, one system design interview, and another one focusing on engineering management basics. I got the offer by the end of that week. The whole process was super timely and professional. All the interviewers were really engaged and asked good questions. It was a great experience interviewing here.
