Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thoughtworks.
Recruiter
The process was pretty long, with 5 rounds and 6 interviewers, so I expected a personal touch and good follow-up. It was disappointing to get an automated rejection email after putting in so much time and effort, especially after talking about shared values and culture fit. I get that hiring can be tough and competitive, but a more human and honest ending to such a thorough process would really show Thoughtworks' reputation for empathy and integrity, which they talked about a lot during the interviews.

Talent Coordinator
I did 5 interviews with different team members, each lasting 45 minutes to an hour. Although the process seemed to go well, the final decision was delayed by several days, despite the recruiter assuring me it would be communicated by a specific day. I had to follow up multiple times, and in the end, I just received an automatic rejection message. I believe it's unfair to use people's time for 5 interviews for an entry-level role in the People Division, especially when the company emphasizes giving feedback internally but fails to provide any customized feedback to candidates.

Staffing Coordinator
The recruiting team reached out via phone and let me book a convenient time in their system. The recruiting was super responsible and caring, treating candidates professionally and trying to make them comfortable. As an intern in the operation team, there were only 2 interview rounds, but I heard that for the professional team (BA/Dev/PM), there will be 5-6 rounds. Thoughtworks doesn't provide internships in the professional team because it requires a lot of training and interns only stay for 6 months. Interview process details were clearly stated in the email, which was impressive and helped me prepare. During the interview, it felt more like a talk to get to know each other better, and the interviewers made me feel relaxed, like I was already an employee. It was an impressive interview experience, showing Thoughtworks values its people. Although I am an intern, they provide many benefits similar to full-time employees. I went through Thoughtworks' professional training and learned about their strong culture and company values.
