It was quite a lengthy process but it's very good. I had 5 interviews in total. 1. Initial chat with HR 2. Pairing interview 3. Technical Test 4. Cultural Fit Interview 5. Leadership Interview Each interviewer was very kind, they guide me along the interview especially during the pairing and the technical test. It's important for you to understand TDD and clean code. You'd also have to understand the language that you're going to code with, because in the technical test, they would ask a bit of theory in there

I joined TW as a Vapasi intern, which is a program for women returning to the workforce after a career break. Since I had a break, I was a bit unsure about the interview, but the HR person made me feel comfortable and assured me that it wouldn't require deep computer science knowledge. On the interview day, I was given a small coding challenge and asked to share my screen while I worked on it using a language of my choice, I picked JS. They were okay with me using search engines if I got stuck on syntax. It was a really good experience overall. The first part involved a casual chat about my previous projects, the tech stack, and some follow-up questions. I think they were checking basic skills. The coding part, in my opinion, was about assessing the thought process, problem-solving abilities, prompt engineering, and improvisation skills. I liked that it focused on essential developer skills instead of rote answers.

I was referred by a contact at Thoughtworks and received a take-home assignment from the recruiter, which was due in 3 days. I completed it after work hours and submitted it on time. For about 95 days, I followed up with the recruiter via email and LinkedIn, only to be told they were still evaluating it. I eventually had to call the recruiter's personal number for an update. He said the code was functional but needed restructuring, and if I resubmitted it that way, it would be fine. I resubmitted the restructured code and followed up for another 22 days with no response other than assurances of ongoing evaluation. I sent a 'getting to skin' email to ask for closure, and the next day, I received a response saying the code was unsuitable. I waited 4 months for this! I'm unsure if the code was re-evaluated or if the final response was prompted by my email, especially since the recruiter initially said the code worked and only needed restructuring. I asked for feedback on what went wrong, but the recruiter didn't respond. It's disappointing to receive this treatment from a company like Thoughtworks.
