I applied online and after about 3 weeks, maybe 4, I got a message from a recruiter inviting me to a call. In the recruiter call I was asked about my experience and was presented the company and the interview process. I was then scheduled for the next stage, a Take-Home task, which has a timer of 2 days to complete. I completed the task and submitted it, but then I got not response for more than 3 weeks. I followed up, but still no response. Overall this was not a great experience...and I can assume at this point it's some form of reject, in case the task was forgotten about.

First you have an initial call with the recruiter. Then, you're given a take-home test that you have 48 hours to complete, and you can use Go, Java, or Python. After that, there are 3 in-office interviews. The first is a code review of your take-home test. I'd suggest thinking about any edge cases you didn't have time to cover and how you'd solve them if you had more time, because that's what they'll ask about. The second is a systems design interview. The third is an algorithm interview to keep the engineering team of male academics strong. Expect BFS search and some big O notation.

The process kicked off with a 30-minute recruiter intro. Then, there was an optional weekly hiring event to learn about ThoughtMachine and ask questions. If you passed that, you got a home code assignment. After the assignment, you could either do 4 interviews in one day with a 45-minute break in the middle, or spread them over two days. I had to pick up the pace, so I did all 4 interviews on the same day. The interviews covered Code Review, System Design, System Review, and a Case Study. I got to meet 8 future teammates, and the whole thing felt really smooth. Everyone was super understanding about the intensity of having 4 interviews back-to-back and made me feel at ease. I left feeling really positive, honestly one of the best interview experiences I've had.
