First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thompson Thrift.
Accounting Specialist
It was a pretty chill experience. First you meet with the recruiter, then you will have a meeting with your manager and their manager and then you have a third meeting with three managers. They asked about work experience, what kind of skills would make me a good fit for the position. You take a personality test and a PI Comprehension Test.
- Tell me about a time you and someone else both had a plan you thought was best, how did you handle it?
- What type of work environment do you prefer?
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
Community Manager
First, you'll chat with a Recruiter. Then, you'll have an interview with RPM, followed by a final interview with a VP. These interviews will involve some thoughtful questions to learn about you and your work history.
- Tell me about a time you contributed to the property.
- Describe a situation where you positively impacted or changed something for a resident.
Property Manager
I've interviewed with TT three times now, first in 2021, then July 2023, and most recently. Each time I went through three interviews and was told I got excellent feedback, but I was passed up for the job all three times. This last time, I interviewed for a PM role at a new community. After they passed me up in July, they called me back to interview again for the same role because the person they hired quit because she lacked lease-up experience and found the stress overwhelming. They mentioned needing someone with lease-up experience, which I have 6 years of, and put me through three interviews again, only to pass me up AGAIN. They didn't give an explanation, just a generic email. I'm not sure what this company is looking for, but it seems they might prioritize age over experience. They also seem to have a lot of new regional and upper management, suggesting high turnover. I was really interested in this company, but their actions have really soured my opinion.
- What strategies would you use to boost traffic and occupancy in a new community that's underperforming?
Project Engineer
The interview process was really unproffesional. For the first intro call, they kept me waiting on hold for an hour before they could talk. Then we scheduled a live interview, but they canceled it a day later. I had to wait another week for them to reach out again to reschedule. They said they would call me at a specific time to reschedule but they called an hour early, so I missed their call and had to reschedule again. The next phone call, I called them and set up a zoom interview for Monday. They called Friday afternoon to try and cancel and reschedule again, but I told them no. I took the interview on Monday, it was pretty basic, and it felt like they just did it to get it over with.
- Can you describe your typical day-to-day responsibilities?
