After submitting the online application, I had one 30-minute interview with the manager of Guest Services. It was strictly behavioral/cultural fit, with questions all focused on conflict resolution and work ethic.

I applied through the Monticello careers portal. It was a standard application. About two weeks later, I got an offer for a phone screen with HR. The screen went fine, and the questions were standard. I sent a thank-you email and card. It's been 5 weeks since the interview and I've heard nothing. I emailed my interviewer directly but got no reply. This is unacceptable. If you interview someone, you should update them on their status.

The interview process is mostly behavioral. A panel of managers and mentor guides will ask a set list of questions. Candidates need to prepare a short speech on any topic. The most important advice is to stick to the time limit, as a big part of the guide's job is conveying information within a strict time limit, and you need to show you can do that.

The interview went really well. It was a phone interview, which made things feel a lot more relaxed and simple. The questions were straightforward, and the whole process felt easy and stress-free. There really wasn’t much to it, but I felt confident and comfortable the entire time. Overall, it was a positive and smooth experience.
