& Process

The CEO recommended Thinkwell and set up a meeting with Rani and I. She dominated the conversation and kept asking questions that made me feel unworthy of even sitting at the table. I felt blindsided at the end of the day since I thought this would be more informational but instead it's as if I was not welcome to apply.

So first I had this informational chat with the Director of Talent Management, Outreach & Recruitment. We talked about my background and what roles might fit. Then, like months later, I had my actual interview with the director and a department head, and then they offered me the job. It felt pretty standard for them, they seem to like to do these 'meet and greets' and keep tabs on people before a role is even open. A few days after that interview, the director called me to go over the offer details, and then I got the official offer letter by email to sign and send back.

Applied on Monday. Within hours, I was contacted to schedule a "meet and greet" interview for Wednesday. When I arrived, a senior HR person and an artist met me. They seemed friendly and eager, but it quickly became apparent that their main concern was my Maya proficiency. Once they confirmed my skills, I was given a 6-hour art test to complete at home. I submitted it on time and as specified, but never heard back. It's unprofessional to not respond after taking 6 hours of my time. Looking back, it seems they had a tight deadline for about 120 3D models. I guess if they could get 20 artists to each make a model in 6 hours, they'd only have 100 left. I wouldn't recommend this place. If this is how Thinkwell operates, avoid it.

HR screening was too high-level and not aligned with the recruiting manager's expectations or profile requirements. They canceled a planned second-round interview a few hours before the actual meeting. I would expect a more professional process in candidate review.
