First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Theoria Medical.
VP of Human Resources
When I was scheduling for the interview, there was no indication if it would be in person or virtual. The interview was via phone call. Although the recruiter was professional, she had a very heavy accent that made it difficult to understand the questions. You could tell she was reading from a script. She did not know how to rephrase the questions if needed. There was no opportunity to ask clarifying questions. Horrible experience!

VP of Clinical Operations
Fast digital resume review, then scheduled with the recruiter for what they called a "behavioral interview." The interview had standard questions. Even though I got good feedback from the recruiter, I got a rejection email the next business day. They asked how much notice I'd need to give my current employer. I said 30 days, which is normal for a professional job. They replied that the executive team wanted someone who could start in 2 weeks, which seemed like a red flag for an executive role.
- Can you share an instance where...
Contracts Attorney
The interview process for the contracts attorney role at Theoria Medical was really good. It was quick and professional, showing they care about legal work. The interviewers knew a lot about healthcare law and Theoria's place in the medical tech field. They were open about the job duties and how the legal team works together. You could tell they were excited about the company's goals, which made me interested too. The interviews weren't just about my skills, but also gave me a good look at how Theoria approaches healthcare law.
- Can you share an experience where you negotiated a complicated contract under strict deadlines? How did you handle the stress, make sure all important aspects were covered, and keep a good connection with the other side?
Application Developer
The interview process started off okay with good communication and scheduling. But the interview itself was a letdown because the questions they asked didn't match the job posting at all. The job was for an Application Developer, and it said they needed someone to design and code software, write good JavaScript and TypeScript, and use stuff like React.js, Node.js, and NestJS. The description was all about full stack development, testing, docs, and working in Agile, with no mention of ML or CI/CD. But the interview was all about DevOps and machine learning, which wasn't even listed as required or preferred. When I asked if it was actually a DevOps or ML job, they said it was still for an application developer, which was super confusing. It's like they posted one thing and tested for another. If the job really involves CI/CD or ML, they should put that in the job description so people can prepare right and not waste their time.
- Can you explain different CI/CD strategies and how to implement them?
- What are some machine learning use cases and tools you're familiar with?
