First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Theodo.
Software Engineer
It's a pretty long interview process with five interviews. First, there's an HR interview, and it's in French. Then, you take a quiz to test your logic. After that, there's a technical test focusing on test-driven development. Next up is another technical interview with the CTO. The final round is with a manager who gives you the final decision on whether you get the internship.
- In the technical interview with the CTO, can you implement a linked list using Java?
Software Engineer
The process has 4 parts: a first HR interview, a refactoring test, a debugging test, and an interview with a manager. All interviews are followed by a debrief which allows for constructive and quick feedback. The process is quite fast overall (even though it took place in July/August). Well organized overall, being natural and honest made the whole process go well and be 'easy'.
- Tell me about a failure you experienced at work and how you handled it.
Software Developer
The whole interview experience was confusing. It started with an HR contact via LinkedIn asking about my interest in a new job. We scheduled a call where the HR surprisingly asked me to convince them to recruit me instead of introducing the company. After this screening call, I was invited to an online coding test, followed by an interview day at their office. The coding test, tech, logic, and pair coding interviews were enjoyable, and I received positive feedback. However, the interview with the CEO was strange. His attitude and questions were odd, like asking why I didn't return to my home country to work or why I wanted to work in France. He also questioned my online test score (below 80/100) and my reading habits (reading an English book). The HR later informed me that my application was declined due to my French level, suggesting I reapply in about a year and a half. My French level was B2+ at the time, and I had a Master's Degree from a French University.
- So, why do you want to work in our company?
- Go ahead, make me want to recruit you.
- why don't you go back to your country to work?
