First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Thentia.
Talent Partner
The hiring process was very positive and transparent. I applied and reached out to the Talent team via LinkedIn and heard back right away. The TA Manager was very thorough and responsive throughout the process; he even checked in with me following my interviews and let me know exactly what to expect. There were no surprises and everyone in the process was very up front about the position, company and what the job would entail. I was left with a very positive impression of the TA team and the organization as a whole; this company is growing and definitely going places!
- Can you share an instance where you made improvements to an interview process?
Solution Implementation Specialist
My time interviewing at Thentia exposed not only the inefficient internals of the company but also the remarkably low standards of how they treat prospective new employees. I cannot recommend wasting any time interviewing with this company. I started my initial conversation with Thentia regarding this position in March of 2023. The interview process itself was fairly straightforward, although clearly disorganized, and the company ended up rescheduling one interview at the interview time because the employee I was supposed to talk to was OOO... It wasn't until the end of May, after 3 rounds of interviews and ignoring my follow-ups, that they disclosed that the position I was interviewing for was now "on hold". During this period the talent partner I was working with went on multiple multi-week vacations. I let the talent partner know I was still interested in the role should it open back up and they let me know I'd be first to hear. A year later, the role I applied for is now active again for the same location on LinkedIn and I still haven't heard a thing.
- Can you explain what an "async" function in JavaScript is?
Frontend Developer
So I got this invite from a recruiter at Thentia for like, a first call, which is pretty normal. But then, as we started chatting, I could tell right away he wasn't really into my background or even the conversation itself. He didn't even explain anything about the company or what the job was about; I had to prompt him for that info. The entire call was just 4 minutes long, and he seemed so keen on wrapping it up that it felt kinda rude. Even if they asked me to interview more, I'd pass because I've never felt so disrespected or ignored by a recruiter before. I'm not sure if this reflects the whole company, but Thentia should probably find better recruiters.
- On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rank your JavaScript abilities?
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. It kicked off with a recruiter call, followed by a technical screening. Then there was some algorithm-based problem solving, and finally, a few discussions with the management team. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, and the process itself seemed reasonable. However, after I accepted their offer, they rescinded it the next day due to a 'hiring freeze.' They mentioned it might be lifted in a couple of weeks and we could start onboarding, but that never materialized. It's been over 6 weeks with zero communication, which is a major red flag. Honestly, I feel lucky I didn't start working there. Just a heads-up to others.
