First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TheKey.
Caregiver
I applied through an online chatbot on their website, which was super easy. After about a week, I got an interview. When I talked about my experience, I mentioned helping a neighbor and their other caregivers. However, the interviewer said I didn't have the HHA/CNA certification, so they turned down my application. Turns out, through one of those caregivers, you don't actually need that certification. There was some misinformation.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe your caregiving experiences?
- What experiences do you have with caregiving?
Business Development
I had a first call for a role at TheKey. The person I talked to was chill and easy to talk to. He mentioned a Business Development position, but after we talked about my background, we figured out it wasn't the right fit for me or them. He asked for my resume and said he'd pass it to the hiring manager for a different role that might be a better match, but I never heard back after that. Still, I liked that he wanted to help and it was a good conversation overall.
- Could you describe your experience for me?
Marketing Analyst
I only made it to the second round, not counting the initial HR conversation. All of the interviews were nice and easygoing up until that second one. It felt really intense, and the questions caught me off guard. A lot of what they asked didn’t really align with the job description, so it was hard to prepare properly. Good luck with it, though! Interviews can be so frustrating when they feel like pop quizzes. Just give us the info we need so we can prepare the right way, it's not that hard!
- Do you have in-person experience, not just e-commerce?
General Manager
The video interview experience was not great due to poor connection quality. The interviewer kept losing connection. They also didn't seem very knowledgeable about the office, especially when we discussed employees and retention. The interviewer had a cold demeanor and responded to questions about employees by saying 'that's just the way it goes, you lose some.' I don't want to be part of an organization that doesn't care about its employees.
- Tell me about yourself and your background.
- What is your perspective on employee retention?
- How do you approach situations involving employee turnover?
