First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TheHomeMag.
Sales Representative
The interview process was quite long and honestly a bit of a letdown. It involved 2 online assessments and then 3 interviews, one of which was with the Group Publisher. Even after all that, they wouldn't share the salary range, so I ended up taking a different job.
- Can you share your experience with B2B sales?
- Tell me about your other responsibilities in past positions.
Account Executive
I applied for the account executive position for the Montgomery county md area and was contacted by the company recruiter. We had a conversation, then a zoom interview that lasted about an hour. They were looking for someone with print advertising experience to sell advertising in there magazine, and I have 20 years of print advertising experience in the local area. They asked me about my salary requirement and I said 40-45 k plus commission, and I was told that was in range with commission. I took the assessment test the day before the interview and was told I did ok. I even told the interviewer I could mentor reps with my experience. The next day, I received an email saying they were moving on to other candidates. I was very sorry to hear that since I have the print experience and knowledge they were looking for.
- What are your compensation goals?
- How would you approach handling specific customer types?
- What are your preferred prospecting methods?
Information Systems Manager
The interview process was multi-tiered, and they were thorough in ensuring a mutual fit, which I appreciated given I was moving across the country. Everyone was friendly and made me feel at home. They showed me how much they care about employees and clients, and I knew immediately it was a place I wanted to work.
- Can you tell me about your qualifications for this IT role?
Publisher's Assistant
The interview process was pretty simple and direct. It was a one-on-one interview where they asked standard interview questions. They started with a phone call, and then I had an in-person interview afterwards. I got the offer right at the end of the in-person meeting.
- Can you tell me about your ability to multi-task?
- What's your experience with customer service?
