Coding System Design

I applied for a role and a recruiter reached out. We chatted about the job and my background. Next up was a live coding interview, which went well. Then I had a system design interview scheduled, but it got pushed back a bunch of times, finally landing on a holiday. Even though I agreed to it, I wasn't thrilled with the lack of flexibility or planning. In the interview itself, the person seemed checked out and not really into what I was saying. They just stuck to the problem and didn't seem to care about my thoughts or other ways to solve it. The whole thing was a bummer and made me feel bad about their hiring process.

Coding Technical

I had a coding interview. The coding exercise itself was fairly simple to complete. However, the technical interviewer seemed disengaged, not really watching what I was doing. He ended the interview abruptly with a simple 'ok bye' once I indicated I was finished. I received no specific feedback or follow-up questions from him. A few days later, I was informed that my candidacy would not be moving forward. When I asked for constructive feedback to help me improve, I received a standardized, PR-ready response that felt very generic and likely sent to many candidates. So, don't count on detailed feedback if you get rejected.
