Coordinator
I went through two rounds of interviews, which included a virtual interview, then a panel interview, followed by a take-home assignment. Dennell and the team were very friendly and made me feel at ease. It was a pretty easy-going interview overall.
- Given the scenario in the email, what steps would you take before replying, what would your specific response be, and what's a general timeframe for sending it? The scenario is about a grade transfer issue where a final grade was incorrect on a transcript, and despite confirmation from the professor and IT working on it, the transcript and application GPA don't match. The question is what should be done to confirm the correct GPA?

My interviewing experience here was the worst I have ever had with any organization. I made it through the initial interview, where I was interviewed by a panel of employees. That part of the process was fine. Then, I returned on a different day and met with two C-level executives for the next round. That was a nightmare. After answering the questions asked in regard to the position I applied to, I could tell it wasn't going well, but I wasn't sure why. About halfway through, one of them looked at me with a disgusted expression and asked how I could possibly do the job based on my answer, when the job required something entirely different - turned out she thought I was there for a different job. Her response made me extremely uncomfortable with the organization and gave me the sense that they were completely disorganized and disrespectful. They ended it with a - "we'll be in touch." I never heard from them again, even after I reached out by email twice to the HR contact to ask for the status (the job market wasn't great at the time). Not only did they interview me for the wrong position and behave in a disrespectful manner during the interview, but after I took the time to interview with them, they continued to be disrespectful by not taking the time to even send a rejection.
- How do you expect to be able to do the job if you don't do X?
Manager
I went through two rounds of interviews. The first one was with the HR lady, the hiring manager, and someone in the same role. The second interview lasted about an hour, split between talking to two campus relations managers for 30 minutes and then two marketing staff members for another 30 minutes. One of the marketing people was late and seemed dismissive.
- Tell me about your experiences.
- Why are you interested in this role?
- What are your strengths?

The interview involves a panel interview with both HR and academic department staff, which includes your future colleagues. While interviews with more than two or three people can feel a bit overwhelming, the staff are friendly and engaging, which helps make the interview feel less intimidating.
- Could you tell us what languages you speak?
- What are your reasons for wanting to work in academia?
