Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Walsh Group.
Co-Op
I applied online, and then a recruiter reached out via email to schedule an interview. The recruiter called me at the agreed-upon time. After two weeks with no response, I followed up. The recruiter then emailed back to let me know that the managers had chosen other candidates. The interview mainly focused on my resume. She also sent a 1.5-hour questionnaire with over 100 questions about managing people and how to handle different situations with individuals.
- Can you tell me why you chose your major?
- Which of your courses has been your favorite?
- Do you have an interest in the construction industry?
Intern
I met with 4 PMs back to back on a Saturday. It was pretty informal, and I wasn't sure what they were looking for exactly. All the interns were in the waiting area, and we were told to talk to all four PMs and move rooms when they were free. They did meet everyone, but the conversations weren't very focused. The questions were pretty standard.
- Could you introduce yourself?
Intern
The interview was very simple and easy to get through. They offered phone interviews. I was happy with how it went. They asked standard questions about my experience and education. It was a normal interview and a smooth process.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What specific aspects of your professional background would you like to highlight?
- Tell me about your educational background.
