Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Village Network.
Clinical Therapist
After submitting my info online, I had an initial interview. Then, I went to Wooster, Ohio for more intros with the administrators and took some personality tests. After that, I waited for the offer.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
Behavior Management Specialist
Got the impression there is high turnover, so it didn't matter who got the position in the end. They just hoped for someone would eventually stick. I inquired why the previous person had left this position, and got a very lengthy response as to how the person did not have the right attitude and spoke up about problems. Was also informed of the odd schedule for the job (Three 12-hour days, and one 6-hour day per week) which if I'd have known prior to applying, I wouldn't have bothered. Ultimately, after the interview, I knew the job wasn't for me and informed them of such.
- Would you be willing to restrain a child?
School Social Worker
it was professional and accommodating, and the vibe was pretty relaxed. they mentioned that depending on how the first interview goes, they might ask you back for a second one. it felt like a typical social service job interview.
- Can you describe your strengths?
- What are your weaknesses?
- What makes you want to work in this particular role?
Child Care Worker
I applied online and a few weeks later I got a call for a quick phone interview. Then they asked me to come in for an in person interview which was about an hour and a half. A couple days after that, I had a second interview where they asked if I wanted the job.
- What would you do if a child wrote about you in their sexual fantasy journal?
