First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
Intern
After a quick resume screening, I had a formal Teams interview with a few people. They said they'd let me know in a few days, but even after I reached out, they didn't reply for over a month. Then, just 7 days before the internship was supposed to start, they told me I didn't get it.
- Can you tell me about your technical skills and experience?
Security Officer
Applied online in November 2016, got a call in December but couldn't attend, got another call in Feb. 2017 and went to a group interview. Interviewed with two security managers, was asked basic questions. Interview was about 30 minutes, they said they'd let me know in 2 weeks. It's been three and a half weeks. I called to check in after the deadline, but the hr lady could only say my application was still active and in review because she doesn't have access to status updates. She told me to keep checking my email for rejection letters. The interview wasn't super hard, but not hearing back is rude. I get it's a busy casino/resort, but their employment center should update candidates. Still going to wait another week before I move on mentally.
- Tell me about a time you had to work with a difficult person and how you handled it.
- Describe a situation where you assisted someone uncooperative, but they remained unsatisfied.
Front Desk Agent
I applied online through the Venetian website and then had to schedule an appointment with HR. You should schedule it ASAP. The HR interview was really easy and fast, like a pre-screen. They didn't even ask for my resume. After a couple of weeks, the hiring manager emailed me for a career fair. There were about 15-20 of us, and we all did a group interview. A few of us were then called for a second interview. The whole thing, including the second interview, took about 2 hours. I waited another couple of weeks to hear back.
- What's one thing you would have done differently in your previous role?
Floor Manager
I applied on-line and within two days they called me to come in for an interview on a Saturday morning. I met with two directors. Within two days after my interview, I got an email to update my application dates so they could do a background check. Then I waited a whole month before they called me with an offer.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
