First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The UIP Companies.
Analyst
I had to fill out a questionnaire with some questions that were relevant and some that weren't (like 'Regular cookies or peanut butter?'). Then there was a phone screen and an on-site interview. For the on-site, I had to complete a quick pen and paper Real Estate Case Study quiz, and then meet with two of the principals. They asked me to bring an Excel model I'd used in previous work.
- Do you have prior multifamily experience?
Acquisition Analyst
Applied through Indeed and heard directly from the VP. They sent a questionnaire before deciding on an in-person interview. No phone screen, just the questionnaire. It had basic questions like why UIP, why you're the best fit, and your multi-family experience. Also, some brain teasers like fitting golf balls in a tub and a peanut butter preference question.
- I expected a phone interview first, but it was just the questionnaire.
- They ask for references and then ask those references for a second reference.
Real Estate Analyst
The interview process was pretty quick. It wasn't super technical. They started with a screening call, then there were two more rounds. They asked a lot about my background and some common interview questions like why I want to work for UIP, about my background in general, and what part of the business I find most interesting.
- Can you share details about your background?
Engineer
I had three back-to-back interviews that were each an hour long with the heads of the division. They went over my resume, asked me some behavioral questions, and we talked a lot about my background.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you share an instance where you experienced a failure within a team environment?
- Can you share an instance where your team achieved success?
