Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Tutoring Center.
Tutor
The interview included some behavioral and technical parts. They checked my resume and asked about my past experience. There were basic math questions to see if I met the minimum requirements. Most of the conversation focused on my academic background and if I had experience with kids.
- What was your SAT score and how did you prepare for it?
Tutor
The interview process was easy as long as you understand math from k-12th grade, you will be fine. Most of it is just proving you can understand and do the math. They do have other subjects as well but they were not prioritized as much as math.
- A lot of math questions were asked to see your experience.
Tutor
The interview has 3 parts: first, an online application, then a phone interview, and finally an in-person assessment. For the in-person part, you'll do a math and writing section. You can't use a calculator for basic divisions and decimals. It's tough because even if you're academically qualified, you have to relearn the basic math stuff again.
- Could you tell me about your three weaknesses?
