Had a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. The questions were pretty easygoing, and the interviewer was nice. They offered me the summer internship on the spot and then sent an email to confirm later that day. This was an unpaid role for a college student.

The hiring process was pretty intense. It took about two months from when I applied until I heard back, and I almost thought I didn't make the cut, but they said it was because of staff changes. First, there was a phone interview that lasted about 30 to 45 minutes. Then, I had an in-person interview where I met with a few different people. The final round was like a practice day, kind of a deep dive into what the job would actually be like. All three stages happened within a single month. There was one person who was my main contact throughout the whole thing. After the second interview, they told me one more person was coming in, and then I'd hear about the third round. I sent a thank you note and followed up a week later, but never got a response. I'm guessing salary and other details were covered in that last round.

I applied online and then had a phone screen, followed by an invitation to interview at their headquarters. Based on my brief experience with the management here, positive change won't be coming anytime soon for those managing properties in the field. The Trustees oversee a diverse portfolio of important properties throughout the state of Massachusetts and there is an intense focus on consolidation and control at the Boston office.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and open. They gave good insight into what the day-to-day of the job would be, and questions were a mix of asking about prior technical experience and asking about motivations for mission-oriented work.
