Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Times of India.
Assistant Manager
The interview process involved 5 rounds. It started with a phone interview, then an HR interview, followed by an interview with the reporting head. The fourth round was with the VP, and the final round was with the MD. The interviews included behavioral questions, questions about past job experience, and discussions about monthly targets.
- Can you tell me about the clients you have managed in the past?
- What were your sales targets on a monthly basis?
- Could you share details about your previous job experience?
Assistant Manager
After my CV was shortlisted, HR contacted me via email for an initial interview with the regional head. That went well and was followed by another interview, this time with the national head, within a month. They made the offer about two weeks after that.
- Can you share your experience with numbers in a sales context?
Management Trainee
The interview process is mainly about guesstimates and understanding your approach. They don't focus on industry knowledge as that's taught later. They ask CV-based and work-based questions. They're more interested in how you arrive at an answer rather than just the answer itself.
- What are your 5-year goals within the company?
