First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Stable.
Account Coordinator
I applied online and even got a referral through a former classmate for the position, and at the last minute the interviewer asked to reschedule due to illness. We rescheduled for the following Tuesday, and I followed up, just to make sure if the interview was still on and never received a response. I followed up again on the day of the interview after not receiving an incoming call at the time we scheduled and never got a response. I understand being busy, but do not ghost your applicants after already scheduling an interview and then rescheduling. Have some common sense and decency. Extremely disappointing experience since I was really excited about this company after doing an informational interview with a former classmate and had always heard positive comments about The Stable.
- The interview didn't happen because the recruiter requested to reschedule and then ghosted.
SEO Manager
I went through the interview process for this role twice and didn't get an offer either time. The first time, I didn't get past the initial round, but the second time, I made it all the way to the final round. Both times, the process was really smooth and they moved pretty quickly. What was frustrating, though, was that they didn't let me know if I was moving on or if I didn't get the job. You end up just waiting around, and then maybe a week later you realize you probably didn't get it, or you see on LinkedIn that someone else got hired.
- Can you describe a time you worked with other teams to help them achieve their goals or your own?
Director of Paid Media
I'm giving my honest feedback on this interview process. I applied via LinkedIn and heard back in just a few days to set up an initial interview. Communication was great (5/5) and the interviews themselves were good (4/5), including the prescreen (4/5). I didn't have issues with the actual interviews with the recruiter, Director of Digital Media, and VP of Performance. My problem was with the marketing assessments they asked for. I'm fine with assessments if they're fair and let the candidate explain their findings conversationally, rather than assuming they're wrong. Since marketing is subjective, everyone thinks differently, which is the great thing about it. I spent my weekend working hard on the assessment with the information given, but it doesn't reflect how I lead a team. You can't assess leadership/mentoring with a made-up report, as every marketing company has different processes and reporting styles. Just because you don't like my report doesn't mean it's bad. When sharing a custom report, it's about how you communicate the message to clients or stakeholders, telling a story, and figuring out adjustments. It was unprofessional when I asked how the assessment would be judged and got a different response than the email I received. You said you're judging my technical skills and thought process, but then assumed I didn't do it right. That's why I'm against marketing audits when they aren't fair. It's like me saying your reporting is wrong just because I do it differently. My advice is to make it a fair assessment by allowing candidates to discuss their findings in the final interview and then ask questions about their strategy. There's no perfect marketing or perfect way to do marketing; it's all trial and error. It's unfortunate because I had narrowed it down to this company and one other, but now I'm moving on. I hope this feedback is helpful for others applying to this company.
- Can you describe your approach to managing a team?
Advertising Manager
I submitted my application online and then had a phone screen with the hiring manager. After that, I had an informal chat with a future colleague I'd be working closely with. The next step was an in-person circuit interview, about 2 hours long, with several team members and others at the office. Finally, I spoke with one of the co-founders based in Minnesota. The process wrapped up with reference checks for 2 people I provided. The whole experience was straightforward, and the team was really open to questions, showing how enthusiastic they are about their jobs and the company.
- What accomplishment are you most proud of?
- Describe an experience with a challenging client and its resolution.
