I applied a month ago and got an email to come in person a month later. I'm still waiting to hear back. The person who interviewed me said I'd hear back by the end of next week. The job is great for young people but not for working-class people. I would have starved waiting for them to hire me. Hours depend on the season, so expect fewer hours after the first four months. I think the staff can be unwelcoming to ethnic minorities, and minorities might also be unfriendly to each other since it's at the Zoo. A booth attendant, a young African American woman, heard me at first but then repeatedly claimed she couldn't hear me. I don't think she would have done that to the White, affluent customers in the car behind me.

It got more interesting after I mentioned I was a culinary student looking for experience in this industry. Then, the Head Chefs came in and tested me on culinary terms. By the end of the interview, the chefs agreed I'd be a great fit for their crew. It wasn't exactly intimidating, but I did manage to keep a cool head and answered without much hesitation.

i thought i was applying to work with animals or on zoo grounds but i work for SSA which is fair its more pay then my old job and i like the outdoors when im assigned to be outdoors in the concessions anyways they asked me if i was available anytime anyday yes i am and do i understand when the weather gets cold or rain hrs vary yes i do it went great
