First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Shipyard.
Media Intern
I had a phone screening and then two zoom interviews. First, I talked to HR on the phone. Then, I had a zoom call with a Media Coordinator. Finally, I had another zoom call with that same Media Coordinator and her boss.
- Describe a challenge you faced and how you overcame it.
- What relevant media experience do you possess?
Account Coordinator
It was a phone call that lasted about 15 minutes. They asked me about my skills and education, and I gave really good, professional answers. I thought it went great, but then four days later, I got an automated email saying they weren't hiring me, with no explanation at all. I felt I did nothing wrong and answered everything perfectly according to expert advice.
- What sparked your interest in this role?
Data Engineer
First I got a message from the recruiter, who asked me some basic questions and my expected salary. Then I had an in-person interview with some of the individual contributors. After that, I interviewed with the manager and director. Next, I had a take-home assessment where I had to solve a data problem. It was more analytical than I expected for an ingest and warehousing Engineer role. Then, after 4 weeks of silence, they sent the offer, which was below my minimum salary requirement.
- What makes you excited about joining Shipyard?
Relationship Manager
It was a 30-minute phone interview. The interviewer explained the position, its urgency, and its role within the company. They seemed rushed and wanted to complete the interview process quickly.
- Could you introduce yourself briefly?
