Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Riverside Company.
Associate
I had 30min to 1hr interviews with each investment team member, covering both fit and technical aspects. There was also a take-home case study that I had to present with a model to a VP/Principal.
- What is your motivation for joining Riverside?
- Could you explain your interest in this particular location?
- Tell me about your experience with deals.
Associate
The interview process spanned several weeks and involved multiple rounds, making it quite time-consuming. It kicked off with initial phone screenings where they delved into my deal experience and gauged my interest in Riverside. Following these two phone screens, I had to complete some online personality tests. Then, I was presented with a pitchbook from a past deal and tasked with developing a detailed LBO model and an investment thesis write-up within a few days. Subsequently, I had a phone presentation with a VP, during which we discussed my assumptions. After this, I didn't hear back from the firm, which was a bit of a letdown considering the effort put into the investment recommendation and the online tests.
- The lengthy personality tests were unexpected, and there was no follow-up explaining the outcomes or insights from them.
Senior Associate
The interview process was quite thorough and seemed to be a good fit for the role. It started with a technical screen, followed by several fit interviews. Then, there was a case study, and finally, a virtual superday where I met with the senior leaders. Everyone involved was professional and genuinely seemed interested in learning about me and evaluating my fit for the company.
