I applied for a Business Intelligence - Research Associate role for the Africa Practice by sending in my CV and cover letter. After that, I was given a 2-part writing test which included a research task and a creative writing question. Then, I had my first interview with the directors of the Africa Practice BI&I team. After that went well, I had a second interview, which was the final one, with someone from operations and a senior analyst from the BI&I Africa Practice team. It was a really positive experience because everyone was nice and clear about things. The HR person was super responsive and encouraging. I was really bummed not to get the job, but the Director offered a helpful feedback call when they let me know.

I submitted my application online and heard back about two weeks later for an interview. It was with two analysts from the corporate investigations unit, and it ran for about 45 minutes. They were really friendly and answered all my questions. A few days after that, I was invited back for a written test, which had two parts: writing an executive summary for a due diligence report and answering an essay question. It took two hours, and while it felt a bit rushed, the tasks seemed fair. I found out a week later that they had hired someone else, and unfortunately, I didn't get any feedback on my test or interview.

The interview process had 3 parts. First, there was a remote video interview on Shortlister with some questions and a writing assessment to test job skills. Then, I had an in-person interview with senior people at their office, focusing more on the role, skills, and my CV. A third in-person interview was planned, but I only got to the second stage.
