First there was a screening, then two interviews, one with the clinical director and another with the team lead. After that, there was a mock meal support session where the clinical director and team lead acted as patients and you had to redirect their behaviors and coach/lead them through the meal while eating a snack.

I sent in my application and also reached out to someone I met at a conference who put in a good word for me. I had a quick phone interview to see if I was still interested and if I met the basic qualifications. Then, I went in for two in-person interviews: the first was with my direct supervisor, and the second was with a group of three supervisors who are higher up.

HR contacted me by phone, but kept calling my home number even after I gave them my cell. The phone interview with the hiring manager was good, and then I had a face-to-face meeting that also went well. My background seemed to be a perfect fit for the role. The hiring manager said she'd be in touch within a week. I sent a thank-you email the next day. After 10 days with no word, I emailed the hiring manager twice, and left two voicemails in the following weeks. Still no response. A month later, I sent one last email. About two hours later, I got a generic reply from HR saying they chose someone else. I get that, but it would have been nice to get a response sooner.

It began with a quick phone call from HR to review my application and resume. Then, I scheduled a 30-minute interview. During the interview, we discussed my education and work history, and they gave me some information about the role and its responsibilities. It was pretty straightforward. I think the goal is to ensure you're aware of the challenges associated with the job and working with patients. This position is a great opportunity for recent graduates entering the mental healthcare field.
