Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The RealReal.
Specialist
The interview had two parts. The first was a written test covering basic knowledge of diamonds, colored stones, and watches, drawing from GG course material like the 4Cs. I struggled with the watch section but it was okay since I applied for jewelry. The second part involved identifying 4 gems if you are GG.
- Can you tell me about your previous job experience?
Client Specialist
Had two phone calls with the HR manager, each lasting about half an hour. Was really disappointed by the low salary offer. It was clear my almost two decades of experience didn't count for much. It's crazy how a company founded by a Woman could offer such subpar pay. How is this supposed to lead to pay equality? I'm tired of the startup vibe of paying next to nothing while the higher-ups get rich. Companies should lift people up and help them grow, not keep them down.
- What makes you want to join TRR?
- What are your reasons for seeking this specific position?
- What aspects of this role caught your interest?
Safety Specialist
The interview process was easy and straightforward. They asked about my experience and if I was open to changing roles. They also inquired about my passion and personality. Overall, it was a good interview process, and they were very responsive.
- Can you describe your current responsibilities?
- Tell me about your experience.
- Are you open to making a change?
