Market Manager
I applied and a few days later got an email to schedule a video meeting with a Recruiter. She was very nice and asked typical interview questions, but unfortunately, I did not get to move forward and was not given any feedback.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What's your method for staying organized?
Manager
I applied and then a recruiter emailed me to set up a phone interview. It was pretty easy, the only weird part was she kept switching between EST (my time zone in NY) and Pacific Time (where she was in California) when setting times. She was super nice and started by telling me what we'd cover. She chatted about the company, the role, and some of the problems they're facing, which I thought was pretty honest. I didn't get the job in the end, but they did get back to me, so the interview process itself was okay, even though it didn't work out.
- Can you tell me about your previous role?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage unmotivated or disengaged individuals and how you handled it.
Manager
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter about a week later to schedule a phone interview. After the phone screening, I was invited to an in-person interview with the department head the next week. The interview was held in their windowless building in a distant industrial area. The interviewer was personable and direct, but started with an illegal interview question, which made me decide not to work there. I had a free coffee and got a quick tour of their operation, which was both fascinating and unsettling. I didn't see any employees smile. My sense is that it could be an interesting place to work, but not sustainable long-term, especially for experienced professionals.
- Do you own a car?
