The process was quick and respectful. I applied and got an interview request within a day or two. My first interview was with the HR head, and it was a pleasant conversation. The second stage was an edit test where I had to write an article and some pitches. I think the next step would have been an interview with the edit director and bureau chief, but I didn't make it that far. It seems like a good company.

A staff recruiter initially spoke with me. After that, I had to submit some writing samples. About a week went by before I got a call back for another interview with the editorial operations manager. During this interview, she mentioned that the team there is quite 'intellectual.' She seemed a bit snobby, which is amusing given the publication's focus on 'hype' and celebrities.

It was a great interview experience, very professional and friendly. I had around 5 to 6 phone or video calls. The conversations were quite relaxed and the questions were spot on for the role, helping me understand what the job entailed and what I could contribute. I really liked how upfront and clear the company was during the hiring process, and the job itself sounded exciting.
