& Process

It was a pretty standard interview process. I had two in-person meetings in London. The first was to present a task, which was quite detailed and took a lot of time to prepare - it was basically like 3 tasks in 1. As others have mentioned, there was a lot of talk about working long hours/overtime, which felt like a bit of a red flag. The really negative part came after the interview though. To start, the hiring manager emailed me, mixing me up with someone else. When I replied, she gave a weak excuse. Then, when I followed up about the role, she totally ghosted me. I sent two follow-up emails and heard nothing back. I found this to be really unprofessional, especially considering how much time I put into the task and how I handled her initial mix-up. My overall feeling is that they're either not professional or they're so swamped with work that they become careless.

For Bright Press specifically, I got to pick if I wanted to interview in person or online, and I went with in-person both times. The interviews were pretty relaxed, and they shared a good amount of info along with asking questions. Everyone was super genuine and great. I actually got another offer around the same time, but honestly, based on how the interview went and the people I met, I would have definitely thought about taking a job with Bright Press.

Professional and informative interview, it goes through two stages. I was impressed with the company growth and its seems that the company has a bright future. I believe there is a great opportunity with the company.

The interview process was super efficient and seamless. It was informative and unbiased, aimed at expanding the interests of future publishers. I'd recommend this internship to anyone interested in writing and the creative process of nonfiction book publishing.
