I had an initial interview with their H.R. manager and was invited for a second interview. Both interview lasted about an hour and they were very nice. Unfortunately I was not moved to the third round of interviews.

Communications were pretty relaxed throughout the whole thing. The interviewers were upfront and honest, but you could tell the hiring team was swamped and really behind schedule. I was told I'd have to work through the holidays and still be behind.

Behavioral

The Public Theater has a really smooth and nice hiring process, from applying online to the interview itself. The online part is super modern and easy, and the one-on-one interview with Monica was really friendly. She mentioned she forgot my resume but was glad I brought a copy. She told me it's minimum wage ($13) and that there are lots of jobs like ushers and ticket takers open. The interview happened on bar stools at a table in the cafe upstairs, and thankfully it wasn't busy then. She said they'd decide in about 2.5 weeks. They seem pretty organized and use a lot of automated systems, so I bet they'll email everyone about whether they got rejected or move on.

Behavioral Other

It was a one on one interview for the assistant position. The hiring was being done by the current assistant, who told me I was over-qualified and seemed confused why I was applying. I didn't think I was over-qualified, I needed a job. He made the job sound really boring and discouraged other candidates and me from taking any offers. Apparently, they had already chosen someone before interviews even started.
