First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Primary School.
Dean
This interview felt different than a typical school interview. It was more like a tech industry process with a take-home activity and several interview rounds.
- What about your education?
- What are your culture-related thoughts?
- Typical interview questions.
Program Manager
A third-party recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and then connected me with the HR director. I interviewed with him first and then moved on to a take-home assignment that showcased my experience relevant to the role, which was quite time-consuming and required significant thought. After that, I interviewed with the head of curriculum, who was open about why they needed to fill the position. While I felt the interview went well, someone else was selected. They did mention that the final stage involved an in-person meeting with school staff to assess cultural fit.
- Can you discuss your project management skills?
- What is your understanding of state standards?
- How would you lead teachers on-site?
Talent Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward and I liked talking with my future colleagues. First, I had a screening call, then I completed a project, and finally, I had an interview with the hiring manager to discuss the project. I made it to the final round, but I turned down the offer because I got another job that was a better fit for my career goals.
- Why are you interested in Primary School and what motivated you to apply to help our programs and staff?
Health and Integrated Supports Assistant
TPS has a disorganized interview process. It took me two weeks to hear back about my application. I had other job offers pending, but TPS delayed their process because people were busy. My advice: have a recruitment plan before posting a job opening. Ultimately, I received an email saying my background was great, but they weren't moving forward.
