It was a 3 stage process. First, a phone screen, then a virtual interview. The last stage was a panel interview with 4 Directors. It went for more than an hour. After the interview, we went for a tour of the building and saw the systems to get a feel for the culture and daily work.

The interview process was straightforward. They were looking for someone who works hard and can adapt quickly. It felt more like a conversation than a formal interview, which made me feel at ease and welcomed.

I met with the company owners at their office for the interview. It was a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere! They asked me some personal questions to understand me better, and we shared some laughs.

I talked to a recruiter and then did a panel video interview. They kept asking about my current pay, which I don't think is relevant. They said they'd feel 'cheated' if my target pay was higher than what I currently make. It's not right for someone's new salary to be based on their old one. This isn't standard and made me uncomfortable. In some states, it's even illegal to ask. A person's current salary doesn't prove their skills, and they might be over or underpaid. Salary should be based on the market rate, and a range should be provided when asked. It's unprofessional to base a new hire's salary on their previous one.
