The process took over an hour. First, you fill out an application and take a catering quiz. Your score on the quiz, which tests catering knowledge, determines how long it takes. After grading, you hand it in. Then, there's a physical test involving plate setting at a banquet table, focusing on serving techniques and food placement. Afterward, a one-on-one interview happens to discuss your resume and get to know you. The interviewer was evasive about pay, only stating that bartenders and captains earn more than servers, with tips being inconsistent. They couldn't provide an hourly rate or range for servers, and gas reimbursement was also unclear, implying it's not provided. If successful, you'll be invited to a second interview and skills assessment, followed by an hour of paid training if selected.

I saw their ad on Craigslist and applied online through their website, though the website was glitchy. They still called me. I went in to fill out an application that took about 30-45 minutes and included a test. After that, I had an interview. It was a nice, simple chat, and they offered me a pay rate. Then I was invited back the next day for a paid orientation. The orientation has two parts. The first part explains the job and expectations and is interactive, but unpaid. If they ask you to stay, you become an employee and move to the paid part, at minimum wage. Here you do all your paperwork and learn their online scheduling system. It was a good, professional experience.

When you first get there they test you on your serving knowledge and go over it with you. They ask about your experience and tell you what you could be making hourly. They say they will email you if they want you back for a second interview. The second interview is with other people and they go over general serving knowledge and then talk about the company and the whole process with a slide show, this whole interview took about 2 hours.
