Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Paper Store.
Sales Associate
It was a great quick interview, they just asked a few questions about my experience and if I had any retail experience, and they told me about the job. I ended up working there for several years after and enjoyed it.
- Can you tell us more about yourself?
- What experience do you have?
- Do you have retail experience?
Retail Sales Associate
The interview was pretty chill, they seemed to get it and were fair. They're looking for someone who's good with people and friendly. A big plus is how flexible they are with scheduling. If you're aiming for management, it might be a bit tough because some of their systems and ways of doing things are kinda old school.
- In your previous job experience, did you have direct customer interactions?
Sales Associate
It was a really straightforward interview, and it was in person. They asked me some basic questions about my work ethic and my ability to collaborate with a team. They also wanted to know how I'd deal with challenging customer interactions and situations involving coworkers. The manager who interviewed me was super nice.
- How would you deal with a challenging customer?
- Describe your work ethic
- How do you work on a team?
