First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Pantry.
Property Manager
The interview process was short and unilluminating. There wasn't much discussion about the specific position. Instead, there was a lot of fluff about how great the company and job were, even though we worked in a double-wide trailer with humidity issues. I only took the job because I was desperate and it was during the worst part of the recession. I did get promoted pretty quickly, but it was to another position that didn't pay well.
- Tell me about your greatest weakness.
Lead Assistant Manager
You submit your application on UltiPro. You gotta pass the assessment to get into the system. The MGR will grab the app and call you for an interview. It's a structured interview, meaning everyone gets the same questions, unless the MGR feels like asking their own. If they pick you, you get an offer via email, and then they start the background check.

Sales Manager
A vendor partner connected me with the DVP. The DVP then asked me to call him, and I eventually did. After a brief phone interview, we scheduled a more formal visit. We met at a Starbucks, where the DVP reassured me about the company culture. Subsequently, I interviewed with a Region Manager, who approved the decision. The whole process was quite fast and straightforward.

Fuels Analyst
It was a 4 step process. First, a phone call with the Recruiter. Then, a phone call with the hiring Manager. After that, an in-person interview with the hiring Manager and their team. Finally, an in-person interview with the VP. They were pretty straight forward and straight to the point.
- In five years, where do you envision your career path leading you?
