First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Orchard.
Business Development Manager
The interview process was straightforward and conducted online via Zoom for the first round. It focused more on personality and fit questions, with an emphasis on experience. They did not get back to me after the first interview.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Could you describe your previous experience?
Lock Desk
I interviewed first with my recruiter, and then got scheduled for a second interview via Zoom. The interviewer didn't show up, so we had to reschedule. They moved me forward to a third interview, which was with a different person than who they originally scheduled me with. This interviewer seemed to really like me and said someone would be in touch soon. Two weeks later, my recruiter told me that everyone who interviewed me loved me, but they decided to hire someone internally. The whole process took about a month. I feel like I wasted a lot of time with them.
- Why should we hire you?
Sales and Marketing Assistant
I had two interviews for the Sales and Marketing Assistant role. First, I spoke with the sales and marketing manager on the phone. This was a getting-to-know-you chat where we briefly discussed my experience and interest in the company. Then, because I wasn't in the area yet, I had a second interview over Skype with two managers. This one was more situational, like a typical interview. The whole process went really well and was very pleasant. After the interviews, they asked for my references. The timeline was two weeks: the first interview was in Week 1, the second was early in Week 2, and references were contacted late in Week 2.
- Tell me about a difficult team member you encountered and how you managed the situation.
- What's your all-time favorite movie and the reason why?
- And what's the most recent film you watched that you enjoyed?
Product Designer
I had a phone screen and after getting good feedback from that, I went onsite for a 2 on 1 interview. The format (2 people interviewing me at the same time) was kinda awkward and the interview felt unstructured or unprepared. I heard back within a couple days that I didn't get the job, and they didn't give a reason. I asked directly if they had any feedback to help me in my future job search but didn't get a response.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
