First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Museum of Flight.
Communications Specialist
I talked to the recruiter, then had a Microsoft Teams chat with the team lead, and the last interview was an in-person group panel. They asked a lot of behavioral and workplace situation questions during the group panel. After the group panel, the hiring team didn't respond for 3 weeks. Don't expect quick replies.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you had a conflict with a colleague and how you handled it?
Retail Associate
I went to a job fair for this role. It was pretty chill and friendly. I had a quick chat with the manager there and they told me to apply online. Then, I had a more formal interview with three managers. I wore business casual. They asked about my resume, some made-up situations, what I've done before, and my schedule.
- Can you tell me about your previous retail experience?
Visitor Service Assistant
It was a pretty standard interview. They asked me about my experience working in a family setting and also threw in some situational questions. I was also asked about how I could help the company and what I could learn from them that I could use later on. When I got to the actual interview, it was pretty chill, like a conversation with the manager to see if I'd fit in at the museum. The manager was a really cool, down-to-earth guy. If you've got a sense of humor and aren't a total weirdo, you should be able to get this job!
- What can you learn from the company?
Membership Manager
I had a phone interview with someone from the development team. It was a standard phone interview, but they didn't answer a lot of my questions about the museum, which was a bit concerning. It also took me a while to get a response from the organization. I'm also unsure about the salary.
